In the Ikoma Highlands, which stretch out at the foot of the Kirishima mountain range, about 25,2 poppies are planted.

There are two types of poppies, the "California Poppy" whose flower shape looks diamond-shaped, and the "Icelandic Poppy" with thin petals, and it blooms bright flowers in various colors such as red, yellow, and white.

In addition, a new nemophila area with clear blue flowers was newly established, and many parents and children who visited during the long holidays took pictures of the flowers that were in full bloom while strolling around.

A man in his 40s who visited from Takanabe Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, said, "I didn't often see so many flowers at once, and I thought they were beautiful."

A woman in her 60s who visited from Kagoshima Prefecture said, "I feel very nostalgic for being able to come here with my child 30 years ago for the first time in a long time."

The poppies of Ikoma Highland seem to be enjoyable during the long holidays.
