CAF has received expressions of interest from six countries as part of the bid process for the organisation of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations," the CAF website reads.

Algeria, Botswana, Egypt, as well as Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for a joint nomination, are invited to follow the nomination process. The deadline for member associations to submit their final application is 23 May with all application and hosting documents (framework agreement, host city agreement, government guarantees, etc.), which must be duly signed. The inspection visits take place between 1 June and 15 July. The date of the announcement of the final decision is to be confirmed.

Namibia withdrew from the race to host it after considering co-hosting with Botswana. Algeria is already applying for the 2025 edition, while Egypt hosted the competition in 2019. Senegal will not be a candidate. However, a few days ago, the Minister of Sports, Yankhoba Diatara, had mentioned the idea of entering the race.
