There are days when you sweat in the middle of summer, and days when it gets cold in the morning and evening.

I think there are many people who are worried about choosing what to
wear today.

Is this year's temperature difference above normal? Dressed, shouldn't you do it yet?
What is the temperature and weather like over the holidays?

We covered it in detail.

It's hot when you wear a jacket, it's cold when you wear short sleeves...

I asked how everyone is dealing with the recent temperature difference in Shibuya, Tokyo.

(A woman in her 20s who is job hunting)
"Recently, I have been having a lot of trouble choosing clothes because of the large temperature difference, such as when I wore a jacket and it was hot, or because it was cold with short sleeves.

"On cold days, I wrap scarves and layers of cardigans to keep my neck cool."

Some people complain of "spring heat"

Sudden changes in temperature can also have an impact on health.
At clinics in Kita-ku, Tokyo, the number of people complaining of poor health is increasing.

At the Ito-Oji Kamiya Internal Medicine Surgical Clinic in Kita-ku, Tokyo, eight patients suspected of having heat stroke such as lightheadedness visited from the 19th of this month to the next day due to the sudden rise in temperature.

It was unusual for multiple patients to visit with heat stroke symptoms in April, and they urged patients to drink water frequently.

On the other hand, the temperature dropped this week, and the number of patients who came to the hospital complaining of fatigue, headaches, loss of appetite, etc. increased, and at least 8 people came to the hospital in the two days until the 4th.

Dr. Hiromichi Ito, director of the clinic, describes these symptoms as so-called "spring fatigue" associated with fatigue of the autonomic nervous system's regulatory function.

Director Hiromichi Ito

"Depending on the day, hot days and cold rainy days are mixed, so the regulatory function of the autonomic nervous system becomes fatigue and various symptoms occur.

"In order to get a good night's sleep, it is important not to look at the TV or smartphone screen until just before going to bed, and to have people take a relaxing soak in a bathtub with a moderate temperature when bathing, especially during this season, to correct a disordered life and lead a regular life."

Is this year's temperature difference larger than normal?

According to an interview with the Japan Meteorological Agency, the temperature difference itself was not much different from normal, and "the maximum temperature was higher than normal this year, so you may feel that the temperature difference is large."

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, there is a large difference in temperature at this time of year because high and low pressure alternately pass near the Japan, and in the month from March 3 to April 26, 4 days with a difference of 25 degrees or more between the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded in Tokyo.

However, the average daily temperature difference at this time of year is 1.10 degrees Celsius, which means that it is not uncommon for days to have a difference of about 16 degrees.

On the other hand, the maximum temperature was 23 days above normal during the same period, the highest number in the past five years, so it is thought that the warmer-than-normal days continued and the cold of the morning and evening returned after the body got used to the warm weather, which increased the number of people who felt that the temperature difference was larger than usual, and some people got sick.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, this cold temperature cycle is expected to continue at least until the first half of the long holidays, so we would like you to take measures such as adjusting your clothes as necessary and changing your schedule in some cases.

What to do with a change of clothes... Some people are worried

Under these circumstances, some people I spoke to in the city said that they were worried about how to change their winter clothes.

(Male in his 20s)
"The temperature difference is so great that there are days when I wear a T-shirt and there are days when I wear long sleeves, and it is difficult to open and close the closet every time.

"In the past, we used to change all the clothes for the children in one day, but since we don't know the season, we have stopped changing clothes recently so that we can serve anything at any time."

"Change clothes in stages"

We asked Kumiko Suzuki, an advisor who is familiar with household closet storage, about tips on changing clothes.

Mr. Suzuki says that in seasons with large temperature differences, it is important not to change clothes all at once, but to store winter clothes in stages.

Specifically, during April, when the seasons change, midwinter clothes such as wool and down are stored in the back of the closet, while knitwear and feather fabrics are stored in a place where they can be easily removed so that they can be worn according to the temperature difference.

In addition, as a countermeasure for humid periods, it is important to prevent mold by storing with breathability in mind with the following ingenuity.

▼ Be sure to remove the bag hung after cleaning
▼ Leave a space between clothes
▼ Prepare a dehumidifier before consecutive holidays

Kumiko Suzuki

By reviewing the amount of clothes and adjusting them to the size of the closet, there is no need for a major change of clothes, which will help prevent moisture in the coming season."

What will the weather be like during the long holidays after this?

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the weather changes periodically as low pressure and high pressure alternately pass over the Japan during the long holidays.

Around April 4 Japan in addition to the passage of a low pressure system in the sea, rain is expected to fall over a wide area of the country due to the presence of a front south of the low pressure, but after that, the weather will recover under the cover of the high pressure system and the sunny weather will continue.

In summer, "average temperatures tend to be higher"

And after that, what will the weather be like in the summer?

According to the long-term forecast released by the Japan Meteorological Agency, the temperature nationwide is expected to be normal or higher than normal for the next three months.

Since the risk of heat stroke increases from around May, when people are not accustomed to the heat, the Japan Meteorological Agency is calling for early measures such as trial operation of air conditioners.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the eastward overhang of the continental anticyclone will be stronger than normal for three months from next month, and warm air will likely cover the east Japan Japan, west, and Okinawa in the east, west, and Okinawa.

The average temperature over the course of three months is expected to be above normal in Japan east, west, and Japan, Okinawa, and Amami, and above normal in the northern Japan.

By
month, May was almost normal nationwide, June was above normal in western Japan and eastern Japan, northern Japan, Okinawa, and Amami Japan,

and July was almost normal.
All other regions are expected to experience
a normal or high condition.

There are also periods when moist air is easy to enter

On the other hand, precipitation for the three months including the rainy season is expected to be "almost normal" nationwide.

However, due to the weak overhang of the Pacific anticyclone, there are periods when warm and moist air tends to enter from the western Japan to the northern Japan, and there is a risk of heavy rain towards the end of the rainy season.

Takafumi Nagida, director of the Japan Meteorological Agency's Abnormal Weather Information Center, said, "Temperatures are expected to be higher than normal, and there may be a flood of requests for repairs to air conditioners, so I would like you to take measures against heat stroke as soon as possible, such as having them check their operation."
