Ningbo International Vocal Competition, formerly known as China International Vocal Competition, was founded in 2000. In 2005, the competition was settled in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, and has been successfully held for 7 times so far, with more than 40,1600 Chinese and foreign players from more than <> countries on five continents participating in the competition.
According to reports, this competition is divided into three stages: preliminary round, semi-final and final, and finally 4 male and female voice winners are decided, and 1 "Chinese Art Song Outstanding Singing Award" is awarded (this award is reserved for foreign contestants whose mother tongue is not Chinese). In order to ensure the high standard of the participants, the organizing committee will hold a preliminary selection in September this year to select outstanding players to participate.
In terms of competition repertoire, the 2023 Ningbo International Vocal Music Competition continues the characteristics of previous editions, adding unique Chinese music culture elements while paying attention to internationality. Ten popular Chinese art songs will continue to be the repertoire of this year's competition, including "The Great River Goes East", "In That Far Away Place", "Love in the Ancient Garden" and so on.
The organizing committee of this competition will take authority, impartiality and internationality as the principles, and invite 9 artists with outstanding achievements in international vocal music teaching and stage performance as judges. The judges came from France, Germany, Italy, the United States and China.
