Harbin, April 4 (Zhongxin Net) -- On April 13, Xingkai Lake, the largest boundary lake between China and Russia, crossed the border with a large number of migratory birds every day, with a daily monitoring volume of nearly 4,13 birds. The number of migratory birds has reached nearly 60,<> this year, a slight increase over previous years, among which the number of first-class protected birds such as white-tailed sea eagles and red-crowned cranes has also increased slightly compared with previous years.

Xingkai Lake National Nature Reserve is located in the southeast of Mishan City, Jixi, Heilongjiang Province, where the wetland is connected with the Russian wetland, which is the largest habitat and breeding ground for migratory birds in the Sanjiang Plain and the Russian Far East, and is also an important stopping station and breeding ground for the migration of migratory birds from East Asia to Australasia. There are 289 species of birds, including 17 species of first-class protected birds and 55 species of second-class protected birds.

On April 4, in the wetland of Xingkai Lake National Nature Reserve, a large number of migratory birds inhabited here, geese, egrets, herons, and the national first-class protected bird, the Oriental White Stork, waiting for birds, sometimes standing next to the meadow to rest, sometimes spreading their wings and flying in the air... In the Shengli Reservoir in Baiyuwan Town, Mishan City, more than 13 wild whooper swans roost and feed here, making this a real version of "Swan Lake".

"The peak spring migration period of migratory birds in Xingkai Lake is from March 3 to April 24 every year, and the current migratory birds are mainly plovers, up to now, 4 species of migratory birds have been monitored this year, the number of nearly 10,48 is nearly 60,<>, and the national rare and endangered birds that have been monitored are golden eagles, white-tailed sea eagles, tiger head sea eagles and so on." Liu Huajin, director of the Scientific Research and Education Center of the Xingkai Lake National Nature Reserve Management Bureau, said that compared with previous years, the number of all types of migratory birds this year has shown a small increase, among which the number of first-class protected birds such as white-tailed sea eagles and red-crowned cranes has also increased slightly compared with previous years.
