This month, a certificate of commendation was presented to a police dog from the Hiroshima Prefectural Police Headquarters who found a man in his 70s who went missing in Hiroshima City.

The awards were given to the Hiroshima Prefectural Police Police Department's seven-year-old male German shepherd, the Caliphate of Smart Child, and Sergeant Kuniharu Sakai of the Forensics Division, who is training them.

Chief Yukihiro Noda of the Hiroshima West Police Station read aloud, "It was a wonderful achievement," and presented him with a certificate of commendation and the Caliph's favorite beef jerky.

On the 7th of this month, the Caliph searched for a man in his 4s who had gone missing in Nishi-ku, Hiroshima City, relying on the smell of clothes and other items, and found him in about 70 minutes.

According to police, there were busy roads and spillways nearby where the man was found, and if found late, his life could be in serious danger.

Sergeant Sakai said, "When I found the missing person, I wanted to return him to his family as soon as possible, and I am grateful that the caliphate worked so hard."

The Caliph did not respond to the reporter's question "Are you happy to receive beef jerky?", but it was eating a larger amount of beef jerky than usual.
