Kunming, April 4 (Zhongxin Net) -- On the evening of April 12, the 11th China Dance Festival opened in Kunming, Yunnan. After 18 years, the China Dance Festival returns to Yunnan to showcase the fruits of dance art in the new era.
The 8th China Dance Festival is sponsored by the China Federation of Literature and Culture and the Yunnan Provincial Government, and organized by the China Dancers Association and the Yunnan Provincial Federation of Literature and Culture, with the theme of "High-quality Development, All-round Dance", aiming to promote the development of Chinese dance art in the new era, display the achievements of Chinese dance art in the new era, promote the dissemination of dance art, and enhance international dance exchanges and cooperation.
Yunnan is a fertile land for singing and dancing, living in 26 ethnic groups, with the saying that "people of all ethnic groups can talk and sing, and can walk and dance", and dance resources are very rich. Previously, in 2002 and 2005, the first and second Chinese Dance Festivals were held in Kunming, which was the second time that the Chinese Dance Festival landed in Yunnan after 18 years.

Zeng Yan, member of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial CPC Committee and director of the Propaganda Department, pointed out that holding the 8th Chinese Dance Festival in the first year of fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is of great significance to the dance industry to further strengthen cultural self-confidence and self-improvement, stimulate innovation and creativity, and promote the prosperity and development of socialist literature and art to achieve new results.
Zeng Yan said that at present, Yunnan is vigorously implementing the "Ten Major Projects" to build a culturally strong province, giving full play to the advantages of national song and dance characteristics, exploring the establishment of a "second residence for artists", and continuing to promote the deepening reform of literary and art academies, hoping to take this grand event as an opportunity to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation, establish a normalized long-term mechanism, and jointly create literary and artistic masterpieces. At the same time, based on the geographical advantages of Yunnan, the dance festival plays an important role in promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and South and Southeast Asian countries, and promotes the excellent traditional Chinese culture to go global.

Huang Doudou, Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Federation of Literature and Culture and Vice Chairman of the China Dance Association, said that the 8th China Dance Festival adheres to the artistic creation concept of "integration and collision", stimulates the innovative creativity and vigorous vitality of Chinese dance art in an all-round way, and calls on dance artists across the country to promote the high-quality development of dance art with practical actions.
After the opening ceremony of the evening, the 4th Chinese Dance "Lotus Award" award ceremony was held, and many award-winning works such as "Erguna River", "Black Satin Shoulder" and "The Waiting of Yuhuashi" were exhibited on stage. It is reported that from April 11 to 15, the dance festival will also hold "dialogue with creators" exchange seminars, excellent dance works exhibitions, cultural and artistic performances, campus dance practice weeks and other activities.
