According to the Independent, Alec Baldwin has received a yes on his application not to testify during the preliminary hearings in the New Mexico court, where the fatal shooting took place during a movie set in October 2021.

The American Hollywood star denies the charges of causing the death of another.

Fired weapons

Baldwin and the film's gun supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed are both charged and now the court will decide whether the case goes to trial, during a two-week hearing.

The background is that Alec Baldwin during the filming of the western film "Rust" fired a weapon that turned out to be loaded. The shot hit and killed photographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.

Baldwin faces up to 18 months in prison.
