Eastern Canada was hit by a major ice storm on Wednesday, April 5 and Thursday, April 6. Quebec and Ontario, the country's two most populous provinces, have suffered from a weather phenomenon almost unprecedented in the last 20 years. Thursday night, nearly a million Canadians were still without electricity, including in Montreal, a city "devastated" in the words of the Quebec Minister of the Economy.
