[Explanation] Chen Jianyong is a 2020 graduate student majoring in film and television directing art at Guangxi University of the Arts. At the end of February 2023, he finished his two-year "cloud study abroad" and came to China from Malaysia, hoping to learn Chinese film technology and bring it back to Malaysia.

Chen Jianyong started to learn related courses from the second year of graduate school, and started the learning speed of 2 times.

It’s quite hard, because I have to finish the 3-year courses in one and a half years, it’s a pressure, don’t be “bad”, just work a little bit, the postgraduate teacher will bring six or seven, I just came back If not, the teacher will give me a special course to make up for it, so I don’t have to be afraid of a lot of delay (study progress).

[Explanation] The film and television industry that Chen Jianyong studied has a lot of division of labor, and face-to-face cooperation is required in planning, shooting and post-production.

After coming to China, Chen Jianyong has gained more opportunities to apply what he has learned from "on the cloud" to "offline".

Offline is definitely better than online. We can experience the resources of the school offline. For example, we are film and television directors. If there is a project to be done, we can find the ones we want to cooperate with in the college. Classmates, you can do it together.

So there is no need to worry about not having resources, so it is quite convenient.

[Explanation] When he first came to China, Chen Jianyong was attracted by the rich ethnic culture of Guangxi. In the next one and a half years of studying, he hopes to participate in more film and television competitions, film 12 ancient ethnic groups in Guangxi, and tell their humanities to overseas audiences Custom ethnic stories, and bring the accumulated resources and film technology back to Malaysia.

I hope to bring the spirit of Chinese film and television back to Malaysia. Few investors are willing to go to Malaysia to invest in making films, and they can make a film from Malaysia abroad.

China (film) has a very good basic technology, and it is slowly approaching foreign technology. Science fiction films are slowly catching up with the trend. This is how Malaysia should learn from the Chinese film industry.
