In this, we will work on the medical system in the event of a new infectious disease, keeping in mind the response to the new corona that can make use of the lessons learned so far.



Specifically, in


the early stages of the epidemic of infectious diseases, we assume the number of hospitalizations and patients for one year after the outbreak of the new coronavirus, and aim for a total of 19,000 hospital beds at approximately 500 medical institutions nationwide


. We will establish approximately 1,500 medical institutions nationwide for fever outpatient clinics.



After that, we will aim for the maximum number of hospital beds secured in response to the new corona,


and aim for a total of 51,000 hospital beds in approximately 3,000 medical institutions nationwide

Based on these opinions, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will prepare guidelines for plans, and prefectures will formulate plans according to the actual situation of each region by March next year.
