Konatsu, a citrus fruit that is a specialty of Kochi Prefecture, has begun to be harvested in Konan City.

Konatsu is a citrus fruit grown in Kochi Prefecture that comes into season in early summer, and is characterized by its refreshing acidity and refined sweetness.

In Konan City, one of the prefecture's leading production areas, the greenhouse-grown Konatsu harvest has begun a little earlier than the open-field cultivation.

Of these, about 650 small summer trees were planted in Mr. Kensuke Nakauchi's 38 ares field, and Mr. Nakauchi carefully harvested them one by one using scissors so as not to damage the fruits. rice field.

According to JA Kochi Prefecture, the cold this winter was severe, so the sugar content is higher than usual.

Mr. Nakauchi said, "The combination of sweet and sour taste makes it delicious. I would like you to chill it in the refrigerator and eat it."

Konatsu, which is grown in a greenhouse, will reach its peak harvest around the middle of this month, and will be shipped inside and outside the prefecture until the middle of next month.
