Three people were injured in a shooting in Tel Aviv, Israel on Thursday March 9.

They were attended to by emergency services, an Israeli ambulance service said.

"Police are investigating a suspected terrorist attack [...] a suspect fired at a pedestrian before being neutralized by officers," police said in a brief statement.

Three wounded were evacuated to a hospital, according to Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross.

Television footage showed large numbers of police and medical personnel at the scene.

No details on the circumstances of the shooting have yet been released.

The incident occurred as a protest was taking place against the government's planned overhaul of the judiciary and heightened tension and tension in the West Bank.
