Music hall singer Marcel Amont died on Wednesday at the age of 93.

Guest of Europe 1 in 2018 for his show Marcel tells and sings Amont, he returned to his secrets of longevity and his still intact passion for the stage, even after more than 60 years of career.

He went on stage until the end of his life.

This Wednesday, music hall singer Marcel Amont died at the age of 93.

Famous for

many hits like "Bleu, blanc, blond", the artist was invited from Europe 1 in 2018 when he was about to go back on stage for his show,

“I watched my health”

Asked about his longevity, the singer confided to Europe 1: "thank you dad and thank you mom, because it must be genetic".

The artist also insisted that he paid attention to himself.

“It is not because one is well known that one has the right to put hectoliters of alcohol in the body”, he explained as an example.

"I watched my health, that's all," said Marcel Amont, who recognized "that it's more difficult to stay simple when you're Paul McCartney, than when you're a pharmacist in Villeneuve-sur-Lot."

, he explained to the microphone of Europe 1 to tell his "life in a whimsical way, in the past, quite recomposed, (...) but especially in the present".

And in 2018, even after more than 60 years of career, the singer still had artistic desires.

"But, if physically I can no longer hold on, or if the public is totally sulking, obviously I would bow out," he confided at the microphone of Europe 1.
