[Explanation] Recently, the Hong Kong SAR government announced the 2023-2024 budget, clearly pointing out the promotion of Hong Kong's life technology and artificial intelligence and other fields, and making good use of Hong Kong's advantages as an "international innovation and technology center".

Recently, a reporter from China News Agency visited the biotechnology center located in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. The reporter saw at the scene that the laboratory is well-equipped, including cryostats, immunohistochemical instruments, and whole-film imaging systems. There are also scientific research teams on site. Related experiments.

[Explanation] Liu Siya, Senior Director of Transformation R&D Institute of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, told reporters that with the increasingly strong atmosphere of innovation and technology development in Hong Kong in recent years, more and more start-up companies have come to Hong Kong to invest in research in the field of biotechnology. According to the needs of investors, introduce different R&D groups and scientific research teams to them, promote in-depth cooperation between the two parties, and further optimize the business environment.

They may complete the incubation plan, or they may come from overseas and want to continue their R&D in the Science Park. We have many other types of support, such as introducing them to different R&D groups, and having different (cooperative) relationships with researchers from the University of Hong Kong. There are also a series of other supports, such as when they start preclinical or clinical trials, we also have different projects to support them, and in addition to funds, we also have different professionals to support them.

I would say I chose Hong Kong because of the obvious advantages here, and if you ask me why, I have three reasons.

Hong Kong has a good business environment, it is also a place where Eastern and Western cultures come together, and Hong Kong has a sound infrastructure. The most important thing is that Hong Kong is backed by the huge market of Mainland China, which allows me to see unlimited business opportunities.

[Explanation] Under the funding of the SAR government, major universities in Hong Kong have successively launched policies in the field of knowledge transfer, aiming to promote the scientific research results of universities to better and faster meet the needs of society.

Lu Jian, chair professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of City University of Hong Kong and chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Invention and Innovation, said that the SAR government can consider more flexible policies to encourage universities to transform research results and further improve the subjective initiative of universities.

A result of scientific research, if it is not industrialized, it will basically be worthless in three to five years, just like the mobile phone in your hand, if you want to take a mobile phone five years ago, you will not be able to do anything Things you want to do, so be sure to follow up directly on policy.

If the SAR government can uniformly stipulate (university scientific research industrialization achievement indicators) and (will) greatly increase the minimum standards, this will speed up the knowledge transfer and industrialization. MIT and Cambridge have a very flexible transfer policy If this can be achieved, our scientific research in Hong Kong will take a big step forward.
