A 37-year-old man's acquaintance was arrested for killing a female college student by ingesting thallium in a room in an apartment in Kyoto City, and it was found that thallium was not found in the room.

The police believe that the suspect prepared and brought it in advance and are investigating where it was obtained.

In October last year, a university student, Hinako Hamano (21), who lived in an apartment in Kita Ward, Kyoto City, was killed by ingesting highly toxic thallium. Kazuki Miyamoto (37) was arrested on suspicion of murder.

According to investigative sources, Hamano fell ill while drinking with Miyamoto in his room. It turned out that it was brought in from outside.

Furthermore, from the security camera footage, it is said that no other person entered or exited the room during the time before and after Mr. Hamano got sick.

Police believe that Miyamoto prepared thallium in advance and brought it in, and are investigating where to get it.
