At the trial, former executives and corporations claimed their innocence, arguing that there was no collusion, saying that ``JR Tokai had decided the contractor in advance.''



In the judgment of the second trial on the 2nd, presiding judge Toshikazu Ishii of the Tokyo High Court said, ``JR Tokai has consistently pursued cost reductions by introducing the principle of competition, and did not decide on a contractor from the beginning.
