The new work of the director from Yakutia Kostas Marsaan ("Ichchi", "My Killer") is a detective thriller with elements of mysticism, the plot of which revolves around former police officer Victoria (Ekaterina Vilkova).
The girl caught especially dangerous criminals, but after the attack of the maniac she left law enforcement agencies.
Due to injuries and surgery, the heroine cannot have children.
Together with her husband, psychologist Roman (Kirill Kyaro), they decide to take the child from the orphanage.
So the six-year-old Dasha (Ekaterina Temnova) gets into the family.
At first, the family seems to find harmony, but after a while something strange begins to happen: Victoria notices that the girl spoils toys and draws strange pictures in which the ex-cop sees the victims of the same maniac who attacked her.
The heroine begins a new investigation.

The shooting of the thriller, which was produced by the Gorky Film Studio, took place in Moscow and the Moscow region from November 2021 to January 2022.

The director noted that while working on The Detector, the filmmakers tried to create a mysterious atmosphere.
Artists, cameramen and lighting specialists had to work hard on this.

It was planned to be released in 2020, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, but filming began only in April 2021.
In some scenes, more than 700 people were involved at the same time.
On the site, copies of real material evidence presented in court were used as props, and more than 1.2 thousand costumes were made for the picture.
The roles in the film were also performed by Sergei Bezrukov, Evgeny Mironov, Igor Petrenko, Laura Bach, Klaus Schindler and others.
