The head of Congolese diplomacy, Christophe Lutundula criticized on France 24 the words of French President Emmanuel Macron before his fast in Kinshasa, on March 3 and.

Remarks made many times and which are "classic", estimated the high diplomat, especially since these reminders are not, according to him, followed by results on the ground.

While Washington has openly asked Rwanda several times to withdraw its troops from the DRC and stop supporting the M23, the French and European attitude "surprises, and poses a problem for us", explains Christophe Lutundula, especially since "the presence of elements of the Rwandan defense force on Congolese territory" is amply proven according to him, and in particular by reports led by the United Nations.

A member of the UN Security Council, a "major actor in international life", France could nevertheless "do better" than to reiterate its support for the peace processes in Nairobi or Luanda, regrets the minister.

"We want peace and we have nothing against the Rwandan people," assures Christophe Lutundula.

But "if the break in diplomatic relations with Kigali is necessary, we will not hesitate", he warns.

"We are determined, whatever the cost, to put a definitive end to the aggressions of Rwanda", added the one who also occupies the functions of Deputy Prime Minister.

The head of Congolese diplomacy categorically brushed aside the hypothesis of a postponement of the elections, scheduled for December 20, 2023, seeing in this deadline "an absolute necessity" linked to "respect for the Constitution".

The day before, President Félix Tshisekedi from the UN Human Rights Office, had expressed concern that the conflict between the armed forces and the rebels in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo could put in jeopardize the electoral calendar.
