In this year's spring labor offensive, which focuses on responding to price increases, major energy company "Saibu Gas" has begun considering a wage increase equivalent to a "base increase" that raises basic wages for the first time in 23 years. I understand.

According to people involved, Saibu Gas has begun considering raising the wages of its approximately 1,200 employees starting in April.

The specific level will be determined based on the union's request to be submitted on the 24th, but since 2001, the company has responded with performance-linked bonuses and regular pay raises, so it will not be possible to implement a bare base pay raise. It will be the first time in 23 years.

Seibu Gas has raised the price of its subscribers by up to 25% in the past year, as the price of LNG (liquefied natural gas) imported from overseas soared after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

It seems that there was a cautious opinion among the management about raising the wages of employees in the midst of forcing price increases, but in response to the record price rise, the government asked the business world to exceed the price increase. As a company representing Kyushu, we have decided to implement bare wages while seeking wage increases.

Even in Kyushu, the spring labor offensive of many companies is in full swing, and the focus will be on how far wage increases will spread.
