According to JR East, around 11:20 pm on the 22nd, a local train bound for Hachioji from Higashi-Kanagawa on the JR Yokohama Line stopped at Yabe Station in Sagamihara City about 60 meters past the stop position. .



There was a risk that the nearby railroad crossing would not work properly if the train was returned, so it did not stop at Yabe Station and headed for the next station, Sagamihara Station.



There were approximately 470 passengers on board, but no one was injured.



According to JR East, the driver in his 30s was dozing off while driving, saying, ``I remember checking the signal immediately after leaving the station just before Yabe Station, but after that, I fell asleep. I was attacked."



JR East said, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers. We will thoroughly instruct our employees to prevent a recurrence."
