This spring, a class was held in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, in which children graduating from elementary school made canned time capsules together with high school students learning about food processing.

Thirty-six 6th graders from Shimotakase Elementary School in Mitoyo City participated in the class, which was held with the cooperation of Tadotsu High School, the only school in the prefecture that has a fisheries department. I learned about canned food processing technology and history.

Afterwards, the children began making canned time capsules as a commemoration of their graduation. to close the lid.



One of the children who completed the canned food said, "I put in a pencil that has become shorter due to continued use, so I hope that when I see it again in the future, I will be able to study hard."



Another child said, "I put a matching handmade necklace with my father, so I want to put it on as soon as I open it and remember the time."

Mitsuaki Makino, a second-year student at Tadotsu High School's Marine Production Department, said, "I want people to remember today when they open the canned food."



The canned time capsules are to be taken home by the children and opened at their own timing after they grow up.
