  [Explanation] With an order, a UAV with a wingspan of 6.5 meters, after setting the route, slowly lifted off with the test equipment.

This is the 10th drone smog reduction experiment that Liao Xuhua and his team are conducting in Ganquanbao Economic and Technological Development Zone, Urumqi City.

  [Explanation] Liao Xuhua told reporters that the experiment is divided into two parts. First, the shock wave is fired through the concentrated air cannon to accelerate the air flow and break the static state of the pollution layer. Then the drone ignites the condensed tobacco rod in the air to reduce the air temperature and remove moisture. Quickly condense and attach particles to the ground, and the two parties work together to reduce smog.

  Working in this place, we fly at an altitude of 500 meters and carry four cigarette sticks. The flight data is transmitted back to the UAV ground station in real time. The operating area is about 18 square kilometers.

  [Explanation] Liao Xuhua, who is in his 30s this year, has a small team of 4 people. Starting from December 2022, he will conduct experiments on reducing smog with drones in Urumqi.

The experiments kept failing and readjusting.

  In the first few flights, it was found that the data had not been improved very well, so we adjusted the route and the number of ignitions continuously. After continuous optimization, our flight effect was better.

  [Explanation] Urumqi is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the valley terrain is easy to gather fog, especially during the alternation of spring and winter, which has caused great troubles for people's travel.

However, the combination of concentrated air cannon and UAV has inherent advantages. Once the experiment achieves the expected effect in the future, it will be vigorously promoted.

  The operation method of concentrated energy air cannon and drone can eliminate the influence of smog to a certain extent. It has relatively low operating cost, relatively strong operability, and is less affected by meteorological conditions.
