In light of the wave of anger and frustration that our citizens and fans of our national team reached after the poor and unsatisfactory performance in the 25th Gulf Championship, which is being held in Basra this time, I had to share my point of view in this regard, but from a different perspective or, more correctly, from a different angle.

This, of course, after I support what was stated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, where he said that the expenditures that need to be spent and allocated must be primarily for the benefit of his citizen children and not for foreign players or even residents, because His Highness's goal is to invest in the people of the country and spend their free time, in addition to what media colleagues and journalists talked about and analyzed extensively what happened with the national team.

But I wanted to ask a question: What about our soccer generations?

Why is our country no longer the birth of talents and names capable of representing the national team in the best way?!

And why did football disappear from Al-Fareej and schools?!

Does this matter have consequences for the future of our generations and our state?!

In fact, we no longer see children drawing a playground on the sand in Al Furjan, and we no longer find the tournaments that were previously held between boys in Al Fareej, nor that passion that accompanied those challenges that brought out talents in football, and we are in dire need of this category to build a generation New with bigger ambitions.

I am surprised why there is no longer any interest in football in schools, and all that we see is displaying or imposing muscles by some schools in bringing in big names for summer training, usually with huge amounts, and the aim of which is to say that this school brought the public player, and unfortunately You find that those who register for such courses are not football fans as much as those who have the ability to pay the fees.

Of course, the parents’ goal here is not to build a professional player, as this is not part of their plans. Rather, their main goal is to keep up with the family’s prestige and to brag among friends, and this is not what we are looking for or needing at all, as it did not put us behind in the first place except for this type of thinking.

If it were up to me, I would have organized a tournament for schools and asked the media to cover the event and broadcast the tournament or its final qualifiers, at least, on live air. There are no more than our local sports channels that can do that, and we have nothing to prevent supporting such tournaments that are slowly being played. It will gain a certain fame and become champions, and create a good space for competition and making stars, and this is what we need at these times to help discover talents and highlight them, so that we qualify them to become professional footballers, and give them the opportunity to build their future and the future of our country. in this mass sport.

In fact, we need to reconsider our way of thinking and dealing with the problem of our national football team in particular, and also with our clubs and our football system in general, and let us go back to the basics and move away from the organizational formalities that often confused us, and let us think seriously about how to make a team that is worthy of our country and is capable of Competition and participation in major tournaments, especially since a tournament such as the World Cup will have greater chances of Asian teams participating in the next editions of it, after the amendments made to the tournament and the number of teams participating in it.

From now on, we must think about the size and shape of our participation in international tournaments and others, whether continental or at the regional level, and the beginning is not in the Football Association, although this is something that we must take into great consideration, but the real beginning lies in supporting the talents in Al Furjan. And schools, and restoring the passion to our generations and youth to play football and representing our national team and clubs, and preparing a football generation that respects and has mercy on our people from the pressure that befell them from our disappointing football results.
