The first edition of the "Literary Expression Forum" organized by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) will start on the 22nd of this month, and it will last for two days at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, amid a program that includes workshops, seminars and evenings full of dialogues, poetry and language gems.

Participants in the forum, including writers, intellectuals and media professionals, will review issues of concern to the arena and the opportunities and challenges it presents, in preparation for the advancement of the vital components of the sector.

The forum will shine through its program on children’s literature, the novel, the story, drama, scenario and literary essay, as well as on broadcasting, podcasts and the cultural content industry. Books, thus opening an area for literature lovers to gather under one roof.

The activities of the first day of the forum will start with Dr. Ahmed Barqawi, dean of the “House of Philosophy,” and writer Jamal Al-Shehhi, in a session entitled “What is Philosophical Writing?”, followed by a session entitled “Emirati Poetry Movement from Rooting to Extension” with the poet Abdullah Al-Hidiyah, and the poet Adel Khouzam will participate. And the writer Youssef Apolloz discusses the “literary article”, while Mansour Al-Alawi, Hamdan Muhammad and Ali Al-Ustad and Manal Al-Ghadani discuss “the worlds of fantasy” in their session, and Talal Al-Asmani sheds light on the methods of writing the script, and Dr. The first day with a poetry evening in which the poets Aida bin Masoud, Issa Al Balushi, and Najat Al Dhaheri participated.

Emirati literature will open the second day’s discussions, through a session in which novelist Reem Al Kamali and writer Salha Obaid will shed light on the reality and aspirations of Emirati literature, while Fahd Al Mahri and Majid Al Ali from the “Trends Research Center” will present political writing methods, and Al Hodhod Publishing House will organize a series of reading sessions and workshops. Interactive, as the audience of the forum witnesses book signings: “Letters in a Different Time” by Nadia Al-Najjar and Noura Al-Khoury, “Dinoraf” by Hessa Al-Muhairi, “The Game of Stars” by Afra Mahmoud, “Dust of the Sky” by Salma Al-Hafiti, and “The Black Widow” by Dirar. Belhoul, in addition to new publications by Iman and Maryam Al Hashemi.
