  • Success in Oliver's first operation to treat his hydrocephalus

  • Pioneer Center This is the pediatric cancer center that gives a breath of hope to children like Óliver, Alonso and Asier

The San Joan de Deu Hospital has reported the date of Oliver's next intervention.

The operation will take place on Wednesday, November 2 to remove (partially or totally) the very aggressive brain stem tumor that she presents.

It is scheduled to start at eight in the morning and last until mid-afternoon.

Since Friday, the little boy has had a "peritoneal ventricular shunt valve" to drain the fluid accumulated in the brain and thus be able to treat hydrocephalus and reduce intracranial pressure.

After this second intervention whose purpose is to totally or partially remove the tumor and its biopsy,

the most appropriate oncological treatment can be designed

, as stated by the hospital.

It could consist of chemotherapy and radiation therapy or proton therapy, depending on the needs and the amount of tumor mass and cancer cells remaining.

Little Óliver, two years old, has been admitted to the health center since last Wednesday, after arriving in Barcelona from Cancun (Mexico) on a medical plane to be treated for his illness.

An anonymous businessman paid for it after the parents asked for help on social networks.
