The Russian Federation suspends its participation in the so-called grain deal, that is, in the procedure for ensuring the safety of the export of grain from the ports of Odessa region, which are still controlled by Ukraine.

This was announced after Ukraine and the UK used the existing humanitarian corridor for an attempt to strike drones on ships in the Sevastopol Bay.

Most likely, another abuse by Kyiv of the humanitarian nature of the corridor played a significant role in this decision.

In particular, the use by Ukraine of one of the ships allegedly with grain to transport a significant batch of explosives to Bulgaria.

Explosives, which were later used to blow up the Crimean bridge.

Finally, an important argument in favor of this decision was the West's failure to fulfill its obligations regarding Russian grain exports - the US Treasury never issued a clear order stating that any operations with Russian grain (insurance, transportation, warehousing, etc.) ) will not be subject to US sanctions.

As a result, Russia's patience snapped, and from now on, Moscow does not guarantee the safety of ships leaving Odessa.

Yes, they continue to sail as part of previously scheduled flights, but it is unlikely that insurance companies will provide insurance services to new ships.

Of course, after this decision, many accusations of inhumanity rained down on Moscow.

Ukraine, Europe, the United States and even the UN are now outraged that because of the Russian Federation the poorest countries in the world will not be able to get grain from Ukraine, that now, allegedly, a terrible famine will come in these countries.

However, criticism of a different kind sounds in Russia.

Russian society and some Russian experts criticize the authorities for the fact that Russia generally agreed to this deal in the summer.

In their opinion, there was no need to conclude a grain deal at all.

They argue that the grain deal was meaningless from the point of view of Russian national interests.

Even harmful, given that due to the sale of exported grain, Ukraine received funds for the purchase of weapons, and due to the very fact of export, it is an excellent tool for smuggling.

First of all, the arms industry, both to the territory of Ukraine (deliveries of Western weapons), and from the territory of Ukraine (the resale of these weapons to Europe and the countries of the Middle East).

And of course, the export was carried out to organize terrorist attacks.

Recall that it was thanks to this channel that Kyiv was able to take out explosives, which were later used for the operation to undermine the Crimean bridge.

It is possible that such a circular

However, on the other hand, the deal had its own logic.

Firstly, the Russian Federation successfully neutralized the Western information attack - accusations that Russia, with its blockade of Ukrainian ports, allegedly provokes famine in third world countries.

And these accusations were made not for the sake of insults: the Americans dispersed this topic in order to spoil the reputation of Russia in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

To pull up, if not these countries, then at least their societies to the global campaign of Russophobia.

To expand on them the global isolation of the Russian Federation, which in fact turned out to be not global, but purely Western.

Moscow has shown that, being a responsible player, it takes into account the interests of developing countries.

And I am ready not only to give them food and fertilizer, but also to create humanitarian corridors for the sake of them for the export of grain from Ukraine.

At the same time, the very fact of this export showed not only the goodwill of Moscow, but also the deceitfulness of the West: after all, only a few ships were sent to the countries of Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and the lion's share of Ukrainian grain went to the European market.

In addition, the grain deal was most likely part of a larger package deal with Turkey.

For Erdogan, the grain agreement was a way not only to make money for the Turkish milling industry, but also to gain some political reputation.

A reputation as an intermediary who succeeded where the United States failed.

And now it turns out that Erdogan owes us a little.

Including because he did not fulfill his obligations to control humanitarian corridors, which have already been used for at least two terrorist attacks against the Russian Federation.

Finally, you need to understand that Moscow did not just do charity work.

The grain deal, as well as the withdrawal of troops from Zmeiny Island, was explained, among other things, by military reasons.

At the time of the conclusion of the deal, the Russian Federation was not going to launch an operation to liberate Odessa, which means that there was no need to conduct military operations in the respective territories and in the water area.

Now the situation has changed somewhat.

A large-scale Russian offensive is expected in November, and the question is in what direction it will develop.

Moscow can liberate Kharkov or the Donetsk cities, drive the enemy out of the Russian city of Zaporozhye, and also advance in the direction of Nikolaev and Odessa.

That is why now - right now, and not at the time of the conclusion - the grain deal has become not only useless, but also harmful.
