China's zero-Covid policy has hit the port city of Shanghai particularly hard in recent months.

The metropolis was hermetically sealed off for two months in the summer.

Due to the sudden lockdowns, the population is sometimes quarantined in strange places.

As the BBC now reports, visitors to Disneyland in Shanghai are temporarily unable to leave the amusement park.

Ten new corona infections were found in the metropolis last Saturday.

In order to be allowed to go home, a negative test must be presented, reports the British television station.

A consolation for those affected: The roller coasters and other attractions should therefore remain in operation.

It was unclear how many people were trapped.

Not locked in Disneyland for the first time

Videos are said to be circulating on the Chinese social network Weibo, showing people rushing to the gates of the amusement park after the announcement of the closure – but they were already locked.

The city government said anyone who has visited the park since last Thursday must have three negative test results in three consecutive days in order to be able to participate in society again.

As early as November last year, 30,000 people were trapped in Shanghai's Disneyland after an officially ordered quarantine.
