Another act of violence has shaken Italian football: Vittorio Boiocchi (69), notorious ultra leader of Inter Milan, was shot dead on Saturday evening on the open road on the outskirts of the Lombard metropolis.

According to police, Boiocchi was hit by five shots.

The crime happened shortly before the start of the Inter home game against Sampdoria Genoa (3-0).

When the news broke, Milan fans left the stadium in San Siro.

Boiocchi was a serious criminal.

He had served 26 years in prison for robbery, drug dealing and kidnapping.

A few days earlier, the Spanish professional Pablo Mari from Monza Calcio had been seriously injured in a knife attack by a mentally disturbed man in a shopping center.
