The painter Pierre Soulages died at the age of 102.
Known for his black canvases, he was one of the most famous painters in the world.
He was born on December 24, 1919 in Rodez, a city which had dedicated a museum to him.
Pierre Soulages was the subject of a retrospective of his work in 2019 at the Louvre for his centenary.
