The error cannot exceed 1 mm, the Zhejiang guy "shaves putty" and becomes the world champion

Great country craftsmen make it like this

A few days ago, the topic "A student in Zhejiang shaves putty to become a world champion" rushed to the hot search.

"It took four days and five modules, successfully completed under the leadership of the expert team, and won the gold medal in Bordeaux, France, which is a perfect writing for me in the past five years. I am very grateful to everyone for their encouragement and support!" October 24 At 9:53 in the morning, the circle of friends of Ma Hongda, a student of the 16th grade architectural decoration technician class of Zhejiang Construction Technician College, updated this text.

On October 23, local time in France, Mahonda won the 2022 WorldSkills Special Competition "Pluring and Partition Wall System Project" in the French Division of the WorldSkills Competition after 4 days of fierce competition, and achieved the "zero" gold medal in China for this project. breakthrough.

"The biggest problem in the game, 'mysterious materials' appeared on the scene"

The WorldSkills Competition is known as the "WorldSkills Olympics". It is the world's highest-ranking, largest and most influential vocational skills competition. Its competitive level represents the world's advanced level of vocational skills development today.

How intense is the competition for the plastering and partition system project?

According to reports, the error cannot exceed 1 mm.

Ma Hongda said: "This competition is divided into 4 days in total, and five modules are built. The 'scraping putty' that everyone is more interested in is actually only one module in the competition. This project cannot exceed one vertical, horizontal and size error. millimeters, but for our players, each shape has a different approach and has different difficulties. The other four modules are also a test of technology. The 4-day competition can be said to be a final victory after passing through five obstacles and six opponents. ."

Recalling the details of the competition, Ma Hongda said: "The most impressive thing is that I encountered a 'mysterious material' that I have never seen in China -- 6mm gypsum board. There is no gypsum board of this size in China. I have never encountered this kind of material, let alone made it. At first, I couldn't think of how to do it, and I was very flustered. Fortunately, the experienced coach patiently explained the characteristics and usage of the material to me, and I completed it relatively smoothly. works."

Five years of sharpening a sword and training more than 9 hours a day

"I have been preparing for this competition for 5 years, sometimes self-pressurizing, training more than 9 hours a day." Speaking of the past, Ma Hongda expressed a lot of emotion.

In 2017, 17-year-old Ma Hongda was recommended to participate in the selection of the World Championships of Zhejiang Construction Technician College because of his strong hands-on ability and high painting talent.

The process of preparing for the selection was arduous, with cement, plasterboard, and bricks for company every day. After half a day, the training clothes were covered with putty powder and dust.

Many students could not endure this hardship, but Ma Hongda persevered silently, successfully entered the Academy World Championship team, and chose the plastering and partition system project.

The reporter learned from an interview that Ma Hongda has been training in the World Championship Center for nearly 5 years, and he has been up early and late in the night.

During this period, he participated in two training camps, and also won the third place in the national trials of the 45th World Skills Competition and entered the training team.

Summarizing the successful experience, the post-00s young man shared, "In the face of the competition, you should think calmly and cautiously, communicate with expert translators more, and understand the competition issues thoroughly before you can do things with confidence and courage. To diversify, and to think calmly when you encounter something you can’t do on the field.”

  Dialogue with Mahonda:

"I hope to pass on the techniques I have learned to my younger brothers and sisters"

On October 25, Chengdu Business Daily-Red Star News had a conversation with Mahonda, who is currently in France.

He told reporters that from participating in competitions on behalf of the school to representing China on the world stage, it was like "upgrading and fighting monsters" all the way.

He loves this profession because he can design a lot of looks, just like a girl who thinks she is beautiful after putting on makeup, and has a sense of accomplishment.

After winning the world championship, he can choose to go to a construction company to be a technical consultant or a managerial talent, but he prefers to go back to school to be a teacher, and to be a coach at the competition center.

"I hope to guide more young people to participate in skill-based learning. After I go back, I hope to pass on the skills I have learned to my brothers and sisters, so that they can show the development of Chinese craftsmanship on a world-class stage. ."

Chengdu Business Daily-Red Star News: Is the content of your entry this time commonly known as "scraping putty"?

Ma Hongda: Actually, this competition is divided into five stages. The first stage is to build a partition system.

The second stage is to increase the function of the partition wall.

The third stage is commonly known as "scraping putty".

The fourth stage is the racing module, which is to install plaster lines. The faster the speed, the higher the score.

The fifth stage is free creativity. In this module, we want to show the peace-loving and inclusive spirit of the Chinese people, so we used the red, blue and white colors of the French flag to draw a picture of the Eiffel Tower, the blue sky and the group of pigeons.

Chengdu Business Daily-Red Star News: How did you fall in love with this project?

Ma Hongda: My grades in junior high school were not very good.

One month before the senior high school entrance examination, I enrolled in Zhejiang Construction Technician College in advance, and studied in the architectural decoration major of the Department of Architectural Art.

When we first started training, the teacher gave you a wooden platform.

After a day, you can give it height and design many styles.

Just like girls feel beautiful after putting on makeup, we boys feel a sense of accomplishment after finishing a handicraft.

I entered in 2016, the school system is six years, and I graduated this year.

When I first came to school, I just wanted to study my major well, graduate smoothly, and find a job.

Now not only have obtained the graduation certificate, but also obtained the certificate of preparatory technician.

Chengdu Business Daily-Red Star News: What changes have you brought to the World Championship Center?

Ma Hongda: I learned a lot before joining, which is quite complicated.

At the World Games Center, I learned more refined things after special training, such as specializing in plastering and partition system projects.

My mentality and goals have gradually changed. I no longer think about graduating successfully and finding a job, but trying to represent the school and the province, step by step, and try to participate in competitions outside.

Chengdu Business Daily-Red Star News: What difficulties did you encounter in the training process?

Ma Hongda: Our project is not only technical work, but also physical work, which requires a lot of sweat. Many people will encounter technical bottlenecks when they practice a project in the later stage.

At the beginning of this year, when I was preparing for the 46th WorldSkills Competition, the accuracy was always not improved.

At that time, people also became very impatient, and I thought about giving up. It was Coach Xu Zhen who kept enlightening and encouraging me, letting me rest for a while and try again.

Coach Xu Zhen is the head coach of the plastering and partition system project of our school's World Games Center, as well as the Chinese technical guidance expert of the WorldSkills Competition.

For five years after I entered the World Championship Center, he accompanied me all the way.

Under the guidance of Coach Xu, I also began to adjust my mentality. After all, I can't rely on others to pass this hurdle, but only on myself.

Chengdu Business Daily-Red Star News: What kind of dreams do you have in the future?

Ma Hongda: After graduation, ordinary students should start from the lowest level of construction companies, but now I can go to these companies as technical consultants or management talents.

However, I would prefer to go back to school to be a teacher and to be a coach at the competition center.

I hope to guide more young people to participate in skills learning.

After I go back, I hope to pass on the techniques I have learned to my younger brothers and sisters, so that they can show the development of Chinese craftsmanship on a world-class stage.
