In DR Congo, the trial into the February 2021 murder of Italian Ambassador Luca Attanasio, his bodyguard and a World Food Program driver continues.
They had been shot dead after being ambushed near Virunga National Park, north of the city of Goma, the capital of North Kivu province.
The trial began on October 12 but was immediately suspended at the request of defense lawyers, who requested that the court declare itself incompetent.
The court today declared itself competent and one of the defendants to give his testimony.
