How did this scene come into being?

On the 20th, the reporter learned from the Zhejiang Qiantang River Basin Center (Zhejiang Qiantang River Administration) that the above phenomenon is called "tidal tree", which is a phenomenon in the intertidal landform.

The intertidal landform refers to the part between the average low tide line and the average high tide line, and the "tidal tree" is a unique phenomenon in the tidal flats (silt flats).

Why did the "tidal tree" form?

It is reported that the Qiantang River Beach is relatively soft in geology, with high sand content and easy to be eroded. Under the action of tides, due to the slow flow rate during high tide, sedimentation is the main factor. Mainly, deep gullies are often formed on the tidal flats, and the tide will rise and fall repeatedly, which will form a "tidal tree" shape.

It is reported that the formation of the "tidal tree" is mainly affected by the tide. It is a sedimentary landform formed in the process of rising and falling, and it is also a natural phenomenon.
