When is the frequent urge to urinate a health problem? .. Doctors answer

The German Association of Urologists reported that the frequent desire to urinate may be due to several reasons, some of which are simple and others are dangerous, noting that it represents a health problem if its rate exceeds six times during the day and twice at night.

Doctors in the association explained that the simple reasons for this frequent desire are drinking fluids in large quantities, excessive coffee consumption, and taking diuretic drugs, in addition to stress and psychological burdens.

The frequent urge to urinate may indicate weakness in the pelvic floor muscles, and it may also herald diseases such as urinary tract infections such as cystitis, neurogenic bladder (overactive bladder), urinary stones, prostate diseases such as enlargement and inflammation, and kidney problems such as kidney failure and diabetes.

The German Association advised consulting a doctor to determine the real reason behind the frequent urge to urinate, especially if it is accompanied by other symptoms such as burning, pain during urination, lack of quantity, color change, or blood in the urine.
