Plagued by “operating problems”, the canteen of the Descartes high school in Antony (Hauts-de-Seine) had to close this Thursday.

In a letter, the management of the establishment indicates that it took this decision "due to numerous absences", reports

Le Parisien

.

The chef and a cook are off work.

The letter specified that it had been a week since these absences had been filled by the school's stewardship and maintenance services.

But no longer able to ensure sufficient “sanitary” and “safety” conditions, the management realized the facts and closed the canteen which normally accommodates 480 students.

The refectory remains open for students bringing their own meals.

However, the room is only equipped with two microwave ovens.

Contacted by the Ile-de-France daily, the Île-de-France region indicated that reinforcement staff have been assigned for a resumption of activity next week.

The delivery of meals envisaged by the region was refused by the establishment.
