The municipality of Pontoise (Val-d'Oise) can't take it anymore.

While the city can host up to five weddings per Saturday in high season, overflows are increasingly common during ceremonies.

On Thursday, elected officials therefore voted for a measure to deter the bride and groom and their guests from committing incivility during ceremonies or processions, reports Le Parisien.

three checks

The couple will now have to deposit 1,000 euros in deposit divided into three checks.

In the amount of 500 euros, the first will be collected for "the restoration of degraded communal property or spaces".

The city will collect the second, of 400 euros, if the future spouses are late by more than 30 minutes or in the event of unexpected cancellation of the ceremony.

Finally, the last check for 100 euros is intended to cover “the costs of personnel forced to work overtime cleaning in the event of jets of all kinds”.

Obviously, the checks will not be cashed if all goes well.

They will be returned within a month.
