Sunday afternoon, a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in a merry-go-round accident at the fairground in Saintes (Charente).

An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the accident, "and to fix the responsibilities", announces the parquet floor of Saintes.

Around 4 p.m., a 16-year-old young man was riding in a caterpillar-type attraction.

“As the carousel began its third lap and picked up speed, the young man found himself thrown out of his car,” explains the public prosecutor of Saintes, Benjamin Alla.

Very seriously injured, the victim was rescued on the spot before being taken to the Saintes hospital center.

She was finally transferred by helicopter to the University Hospital of Poitiers.

How serious are the injuries?

A forensic examination was ordered by the public prosecutor's office to determine the nature and extent of the injuries.

“At this time [Monday at 6 p.m.], “the vital prognosis of the young man is still engaged” indicates the public prosecutor.

The victim is a student at the Air Force Technical Education School at Air Base 722. He was at the carnival “with several of his classmates.

Where is the investigation?
