The jury of the National Prize for Current Music 2022 organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports has chosen the Catalan singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz as the winner of the award, endowed with 30,000 euros.

Sílvia Pérez Cruz was born in Palafrugell, Girona, in 1983, trained in music theory, orchestral music, flamenco, popular music from Latin America and

graduated in jazz singing at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya

(ESMUC).

In those early years, she was co-founder and singer of the group Las Migas and sang with guitarist Toti Soler.

Her debut as a composer and soloist was
