, the film dedicated to the Depp/Heard trial with Mark Hapka and Megan Davis arrived on the Tubi platform last week.

And even before its broadcast, the film did not fail to cause controversy, the survivors of domestic violence having denounced a means of sensationalizing a subject that is nevertheless serious.



But to hear the two stars of the film, it was absolutely not their will nor that of the production.

“I think these people are very nervous that this movie is taking something as serious as domestic violence lightly.

I also think they've been very vocal on social media because their experience is something worth respecting,” Megan Davis, who plays Amber Heard, told Entertainment Weekly.

According to her, the goal of this film was to get as close as possible to the truth while crossing the two points of view “even if we are still not sure of what really happened”.

Giving the protagonists back their humanity

“I think it's horrible that they had their entire experience broadcast and subjected to public opinion,” added Mark Hapka, who plays Johnny Depp.

“I just hope the way we brought it all together in the film helped bring some humanity to the situation, instead of just words spoken on the stand.

Still, we may be surprised that a film was produced on this subject so quickly, even though Amber Heard appealed the decision of the judgment which favored Johnny Depp.
