In a new artistic achievement added to Sharjah’s cultural projects, the Fun Foundation celebrated the launch of “Ajwan”, the first animated Arab science fiction series, which will be available to the public on the Shahid platform, affiliated with the MBC Group, and its voices will be performed by a selection of Arab artists. Among the most prominent of them: the artist Rasha Rizk, the artist Yousra, and the artist Basil Khayat.

This came during a special ceremony held at the Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology to launch the series, which was produced by (Fun) in partnership with Paragon Entertainment, in the presence of Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the (Fun) Foundation, and Emirati writer Noura Al Noman, author. The novel "Ajwan", on which the events of the series were based, and a group of government officials, representatives of the media, sponsors and those interested in cultural and artistic affairs.

The series, adapted from the novel "Ajwan", which won the "Etisalat Award for Children's Book 2013", establishes the role of "animation" series in promoting morals and the values ​​of justice, compassion and brotherhood.

It also focuses on the strengths that women possess, and their ability to face difficulties, in an interesting dramatic form that uses the highest and latest animation techniques.

The series tells the story of "Ajwan", a 19-year-old girl whose planet was destroyed and her family and friends lost her family and friends. Armed and not knowing her goals, however, Ajwan becomes more steadfast and challenging to search for her child and get out of the suffering she was subjected to in the depths of space.

Emirati writer Noura Al Noman said at the ceremony: "The novel (Ajwan) sends a general message that literature has one function, which is to make humans in a better condition, and another especially for young people not to be fuel for others' wars, and to show compassion and cooperation to reconstruct this land."

Al-Noman added: "I wrote (Ajwan) for young people, realizing the importance of this category that should be targeted with science fiction novels, as it encourages young people to love science, and instills in them the pleasure of thinking about the future in order to become, through this, scientists who make a world that lives the earth and serves humanity." .
