Pierre Hillard will finally not hold his conference, scheduled for September 27 at the Orléans media library (Loiret).

The mayor of the city, Serge Grouard, announced this Tuesday in a press release that the event was canceled, reports France 3 Center-Val-de-Loire.

The guest author indeed regularly formulates anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about a new world order secretly set up by a Jewish elite.

His arrival in Orleans had aroused the anger and indignation of a local anti-fascist association, the Licra and an elected opposition member.

I requested the cancellation of the media library reservation for Mr. Pierre Hillard's conference on 09/27.

If this conference had taken place, I myself would have gone to demonstrate against it.

Anti-Semitism is not an opinion, it is a crime.

And I've always fought it.

“Anti-Semitism is not an opinion”

The auditorium of the media library had been reserved by a local association, France Souveraineté, a member of which has already been sentenced for displaying a swastika during a demonstration in 2021. The town hall, which had not been informed of the theme of the conference , could not oppose it, the association having never been condemned itself.

“If this conference had taken place, I myself would have gone to demonstrate against it,” said Serge Grouard in the press release.

“Anti-Semitism is not an opinion, it is a crime.

And I have always fought it with the most total determination.
