The social network Snapchat, very popular with young people, has decided to engage on the issue of mental health and is associated with 3114, the national suicide prevention number.

62% of 18-24 year olds have had suicidal thoughts since the health crisis, according to the Jean Jaurès Foundation.

The Jean Jaurès Foundation published an alarming figure this summer: 62% of 18-24 year olds have had suicidal thoughts since the health crisis, since September 2021, compared to 34% of the general population.

On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day, which takes place on Saturday, the social network Snapchat, very popular with young people, has decided to take action on the issue of mental health and is partnering with the national number of suicide prevention, the 3114.

“We accept this role willingly”

Users will now be able to use a specific filter that includes 3114, a way to publicize this national suicide prevention number.

Snapchat will also make resources available to learn more or connect with experts on its support site.

The social network will publish information about mental health and an awareness video on the "Here For You" portal.

A portal that is not new.

Launched during confinement in order to make resources available to users who need them, it will now be enriched.
