On September 6, the opening ceremony of more than 1,000 2022 freshmen of Beijing Film Academy was held on the Huairou campus.
Film director and Beijing Film Academy alumnus Zhang Yimou attended the ceremony and was hired as the school's Distinguished Professor.
"This is where a dream started," Zhang Yimou recalled the scene when he first came to the Film Academy in 1978. "Since that day, I have been working for the Chinese film industry, working hard, and learning." He said, The energetic young people in the audience represented the future of Chinese film, and sent an affectionate message to the new students: "I hope everyone will cherish the opportunity, study hard, exercise themselves, and go to work in the future to make greater contributions to China's film industry."
