Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) changes from his own cabinet to the cabinet of Madame Tussauds: on Wednesday his wax figure was unveiled at the Reichstag building in Berlin.

Work on the figure had already begun on December 8, 2021, the day the chancellor was sworn in.

A team of 20 artists spent more than 100 hours giving the figure its deceptively real appearance.

All Madame Tussauds figurines are made in London.

Scholz' figure was more difficult than others, said Patrik Timmermann from Madame Tussauds Berlin.

Because he didn't have time, Scholz couldn't be measured as usual.

Measurements were taken using photos and videos, which were evaluated over a period of two months in order to be able to depict every detail.

"The mischievous smile was particularly important to us," says Timmermann.

Like the original, the wax Scholz is 1.70 meters tall.

Wearing a tailored blue suit but weighing only around 35 kilograms, he can now be seen at Madame Tussauds in Berlin with Helmut Kohl and Barack Obama.
