On Monday, the trade union SAC Syndikalisterna announced that Kajsa Ekis Ekman had been formally dismissed from her position as editor-in-chief of the newspaper Arbetaren.

The agreement was that Ekman was released from work with pay and that the process was handed over to external legal parties, which was confirmed by the board of Kulturnyheterna.

She has now, via a legal representative, annulled the dismissal and if a settlement between the parties cannot be reached within two weeks, she intends to bring an action for annulment in court.

- I wish they had communicated with me instead of sending out a press release to the media without warning.

They do not respond to my or my agent's emails.

We have invalidated the dismissal as it is without reason.

Nor can you release someone from work during deliberations, says Kajsa Ekis Ekman to Journalisten.

She believes that the reason the Worker wants to get rid of her is her views, or "what they think my views are".

- No one, either from the board or the editors, has spoken to me about anything or accused me of anything, so I cannot answer what the accusations would consist of.

The board: Cannot comment

Board member Tommy Sundvall believes that he cannot comment on the dismissal as it has been handed over to external legal parties.

- The fact that Kajsa Ekis Ekman has not received an answer to the email she sent is partly due to the fact that it is our legal representative who is to handle the contact, and partly to the fact that the board is under strong pressure and therefore has not had the opportunity to reply, says Tommy Sundvall to Journalisten .
