A person in charge of the organizing committee involved in the selection of sponsors for companies such as KADOKAWA, which is suspected of providing a bribe to former director Haruyuki Takahashi of the organizing committee for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in a corruption case. Through interviews with the people involved, I learned that the project was shared between the two, and was called the "Takahashi project."


The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office's Special Investigation Department believes that former director Takahashi had a strong influence on the sponsor selection process of the organizing committee and is working to clarify the actual situation.

Haruyuki Takahashi, 78, a former director of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee, received a total of 76 million yen in bribes from the former managing director of KADOKAWA, a major publishing company, as a reward for helping with the selection of sponsors. was arrested on the 6th on suspicion of accepting bribes.



He has also been charged with accepting bribes totaling ¥51 million from men's clothing giant Aoki Holdings.



Regarding the selection of sponsors, the company name was reported to the organizing committee's board of directors after the contract was signed, and the board was not involved in advance.



However, interviews with related parties revealed that ▽KADOKAWA and ▽AOKI were shared among the people in charge of the organizing committee involved in the selection, and were called the "Takahashi case".



Of these, AOKI was introduced to the Organizing Committee by former director Takahashi as a sponsor candidate, and is believed to have been involved in coordinating the sponsorship fee. It seems that they are trying to clarify the actual situation by considering that they had influence.



According to those involved, former director Takahashi denies any wrongdoing in either case.
