The Russian film studio Soyuzmultfilm, together with the Polygon blockchain platform and OD Business Technologies Group, will begin developing NFT projects.

The cooperation agreement was signed during the 7th Eastern Economic Forum.

The Polygon/Cere joint venture plans to invest more than $4 million in the development and support of the film studio's projects.

Soyuzmultfilm is a company with the richest, almost century old traditions, which today, in the 21st century, continues its continuous development, rapidly mastering new forms and technologies.

Such a combination of experience and relevant approaches makes it possible to create unique projects.

Together with our partners, we will open a completely new page in the history of the legendary film studio,” said Yuliana Slashcheva, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the film studio.

It is known that within the framework of cooperation, digital art objects, collectible tokens and NFTs can be realized, which will give the owners exclusive rights.

As Vladimir Chibisov, head of the commercial department of the film studio, explained in an interview with RT, Polygon is the largest platform that holds crypto wallets and has technological solutions for the implementation of both cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

“We plan to jointly create a platform where we will sell our NFT tokens and attract creative teams, young artists from both sides, including for the production and release of NFTs for our projects.

Polygon integrates this platform into all NFT marketplaces so that any buyer anywhere in the world, entering the marketplace and choosing a Soyuzmultfilm token, gets to our platform.

In this way, we will be able to control and protect both primary and secondary purchases, ”explained a company representative.

He noted that all rights to digital assets will belong to the film studio.

According to Vladimir Chibisov, such cooperation can attract not only children to the film studio, but also young people who will also become parents in the future.

In addition, the agreement will enable the studio to gain a foothold in the popular crypto space.

“NFT is first and foremost high art, art turned into digital assets.

Our company has many artifacts that claim to be art objects.

For example, undigitized and unpublished storyboards, sketches.

We simply follow the trends in the world market and what is happening in art,” explained Vladimir Chibisov.

“This is not only a way to monetize content: for Soyuzmultfilm, it is important to carry eternal, universal values and keep the connection between generations.

We are doing new projects and to popularize them, we need to attract children and young people - future parents who will learn about Soyuzmultfilm through the crypto world and game universes.

It is not yet clear which projects will be in development, however, according to Vladimir Chibisov, the film studio and the blockchain platform are planning to enter the gaming crypto market and sell various features, characteristics and equipment for game characters.

“We plan to create games based on multi-format serials, full-length films from Soyuzmultfilm, and make projects for game universes.

So, it will be possible to buy an NFT token on the marketplace, and when it is added to the game, it will improve the characteristics of the game character, for example, increase its strength.

That is, it will make it possible to upgrade your hero and thus increase its value.

We also plan to sell additional abilities or benefits for the character in the game, for example, ammunition or equipment in the form of tokens, ”said a representative of the film studio.

In addition to the game world, the studio is also going to implement projects in the field of NFT fashion.

“We have an idea to make NFT in the direction of crypto-fashion — the popularity of this direction is growing.

Such a project implies the release of a limited series of physical objects, clothes, for example, and buyers of tokens are given a priority right to purchase certain products according to individual standards,” Vladimir Chibisov explained.

The specialist said that the studio had previously collaborated with various brands in collaboration and released jointly limited items or collections.

“We will attract our licensees.

The film studio now has about 250 licensing contracts in various product categories: both in toys and clothing.

In 2018, we collaborated with Puma on a limited line of sneakers, in 2021 we had a joint capsule with Monochrome, and several more lines with mass-market brands are in development,” the expert said.

It is known that the release of the first project of Soyuzmultfilm, Polygon and OD Business Technologies Group is scheduled for the end of 2022.
