Sadiq Al-Sabah, pointing out in previous statements to him that the work deals with the story of a young man living in a feudal society, and he can deal with this atmosphere that was in that era of time transmitted by the series, and it is a story that stems from folk tales.

The Egyptian director, Mohamed Fadel, presents a different kind of historical drama through the series “The Weeping Laughing”, which presents the biography of the late artist Naguib Al-Rihani, and also deals with the events that Egypt witnessed during the time period between 1910 and 1949, most notably the 1919 revolution, The First World War, and also the Second World War, through the character of Najib Al-Rihani and other personalities, such as the musician Sayed Darwish.
