Foot: lively end of the 2022 transfer window for African players

The Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transferred from FC Barcelona to Chelsea, the Senegalese Abdou Diallo and Idrissa Gana Gueye who are leaving Paris Saint-Germain… The end of the 2022 summer football transfer market has been lively for African players.

This summer of 2022 will have been lively for African footballers, between the transfer of the Senegalese Sadio Mané to Bayern Munich and that of the Ivorian Sébastien Haller to Borussia Dortmund, the arrival of the Ivorian Franck Kessié at FC Barcelona or the signing of the defender Kalidou Koulibaly at Chelsea.
It ended in the same vein with notably the return of the Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to London.
The 33-year-old striker leaves FC Barcelona for 12 million euros, despite a convincing half-season in the Spanish Championship (11 goals in 17 matches), for the Koulibaly Blues and not for Arsenal where he had already evolved from 2017 to 2022. He signed a two-year lease there.
The Senegalese Diallo and Gueye leave Paris
It is the main African movement of the last 48 hours but not the only one.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), for example, pushed its two Senegalese African champions, midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye and defender Abdou Diallo, out.
The first returned to Everton (England) for two seasons while the second was loaned for one year (with option to buy) to RB Leipzig (Germany).
Diallo should not cross the Guinean Ilaix Moriba in the Bundesliga.
The talented 19-year-old midfielder will once again be loaned to FC Valencia in Spain.
His compatriot Serhou Guirassy, on the other hand, goes to the German championship.
He is on loan for one season (with option to buy) from Stade Rennes (France) to VFB Stuttgart.
Rennes has also strengthened by hiring the promising Cameroonian defender Christopher Wooh (20) and especially the Franco-Algerian striker Amine Gouiri.
The 22-year-old ex-Niçois is a reinforcement of choice for the French club.
El Bilal Touré replaces Umar Sadiq
Another notable transfer, that of the Nigerian Umar Sadiq who goes from a Spanish formation (Almeria) to another (Real Sociedad) against twenty million euros, according to the local press.
In Almeria, the Super Eagle is numerically replaced by the Malian El Bilal Touré.
The artificer of the Eagles thus leaves the Stade de Reims (France).
Another Malian left France: midfielder Boubacar Traoré, on loan from FC Metz to Wolverhampton (England).
Still in England, Adama Traoré will try to bounce back to Hull City, after a stint in Turkey (Hatayspor).
