"Grandfather Rambo" is fighting for his home and family: in Moscow and the Moscow region, the shooting of the series "Against All" is underway

One of the main locations of the Against Everyone series, produced by the START online cinema and the STS TV channel, is located in Lyubertsy.

It was there, in the courtyard of a modern multi-storey residential complex, that a private house appeared with a plot on which a small garden, beds, outbuildings, a barn, a cowshed, pens for rabbits and chickens were erected.

The Zanozin family lives on this site, the head of which is grandfather Zakhar, performed by Nikolai Dobrynin, in principle does not want to sell his property to the residential complex developer, although he has already cut down the forest around the site, drained the pond and erected most of the complex.

In the family of the protagonist, too, not everything is going smoothly - the daughter-in-law (Alexandra Ursulyak) left one son of Zakhar for another, and the grandson fell in love with the daughter of the antagonist.

The director of the project was Mikhail Solovyov ("Family", "Street").

When there is nowhere to shoot an interesting story

According to the creative producer of the series Alexei Mikhnovich, the team learned about the “blue house in Odintsovo” several years ago, and even then the story seemed worthy of film adaptation to filmmakers.

The problem for the start of filming the show was the lack of a suitable location.

“We didn’t understand how to shoot it at all, despite the fact that we liked the idea even then.

We are not building this house.

Well, what LCD will let us in with such ideas?

But the very thought remained in their heads, ”said the producer.

For several years, the idea went “on the table”, and the team began to work on another concept - about an elderly person whose outlook on life is radically different from modern ones.

“We have been scrolling through the options for a long time, who it could be, and in the center of what situation.

Here, by the way, they remembered the history of the house.

And somehow these two concepts very organically grew together.

But again, everything came down to the question of how we are going to film it, ”says Mikhnovich.

Finding a location turned out to be a difficult task: the producers looked at about 20 residential complexes in Moscow and the Moscow region, but there were no suitable ones.

There was an idea to shoot the house separately, on the green, and later combine it with the filmed plans of the residential complex at the editing, add computer graphics.

But this idea was quickly abandoned.

“It was one of the working options until we did the tests: it became clear that in this way we do not get the emotional component.

The story would have turned out to be a little artificially created, but I wanted something else.

I wanted to see exactly this picture: a resident of the residential complex sees grandfather Zakhar from the window of a high-rise building.

And grandfather Zakhar comes out, say, from the chicken coop, and sees someone at the entrance.

So that this conflict “sparks” every second,” Mikhnovich said.

As a result, a residential complex was found in Lyubertsy near Moscow, and the district administration agreed to let filmmakers with all the scenery enter the territory.

But even there it was not without difficulties, since the house, as well as a plot with sheds and a garden, ended up in the middle of a playground.

“We were not allowed to remove the cover.

Therefore, both the tiles and the rubber coating of the playground remained under our house.

It was also impossible to go deep into the ground to plant trees.

Therefore, the entire site is completely imported soil.

We made a special substrate according to the principle by which roads are built - sand and gravel - so as not to sit in puddles when it rains.

They laid a layer of soil on top and after that they planted grass, trees, made beds, ”said Alexander Kim, production designer.

Development of the location plan, redevelopment, approval, consultations with landscape designers and construction took several months.

It took about four weeks to cover and form the soil, and almost a month to build the house and all the buildings.

Plants and trees were planted last, and watered twice a shift.

All those involved in the project were satisfied with the result.

“I am endlessly admired by our artists - what a miracle they have created among these new buildings,” Nikolai Dobrynin, the leading actor, shares his impressions.

- Apple trees are blooming on our site, berries are ripening!

I plant in the country - it does not grow at all, but they planted it here - and it grows.

The blackberry was picked the day before yesterday.

In every centimeter of this site you feel with what love it was created.

The performer of the role of Zakhar's granddaughter Eva, Eva Smirnova ("Vampires of the Middle Band") is also delighted with the site.

“I am always happy to come here and examine, examine, examine every millimeter of this house.

Everything here is like a real one, even raspberries have taken root.

Real sweet raspberries!

And my mother and I, while no one sees, pick a berry and eat.

There are still apples, “white filling”, they also took root, but have not yet ripened, ”said the young actress.

Villain or hero?

The selection of an actor for the role of grandfather Zakhar was rather unusual.

Nikolai Dobrynin, according to the original idea, was supposed to play Robert, the main antagonist of the series, the owner of a real estate developer.

In parallel, he himself suggested to the authors of the series several candidates for the role of Zakhar - Yuri Nazarov ("Hot Snow", "Sannikov Land", "Shadow Boxing"), Alexander Mikhailov ("Carnival", "Love and Pigeons", "Yesenin") and the late Boris Nevzorov (“Marshal of the Revolution”, “Search and Defuse”, “Moscow Speaks”).

Having already passed the audition, Dobrynin called his agent and asked him to sign him up for a second one - but already for the role of grandfather.

“Zakhar is a person who has a memory, and he cherishes this memory.

He remembers his grandfather, his great-grandfather, he keeps the family hearth.

I'm the same in life.

Therefore, both the hero and the project as a whole are very close to me.

I miss this band when I'm not working.

And I come here - and I'm happy, I want the shooting day to not end.

I want to do all my own stunts.

In principle, it is now happening, ”the actor admitted.

Director Mikhail Solovyov is convinced that Dobrynin perfectly embodied the image of Zakhar.

“Nikolai Nikolaevich came, and a character appeared.

He does it.

It's impossible to tell what it is.

This is facial expressions, and some kind of gesture, turn, humor - very, very subtle, calm.

This is an inner strength, ”said Solovyov.

Nikolai Dobrynin, in turn, noted that he goes in for sports a lot in everyday life, and specifically in order to create the image of "grandfather Rambo": strong, lean and unbending - which does not burn in fire and does not sink in water .

“We sat well in the swamp, ten doubles like that, with immersion.

The human body pushes water well, so in one hand I had a bag weighing 30 kilograms, and in the other I had an empty bottle to blow bubbles.

I jumped into the grave myself.

For this scene, Misha (director Mikhail Solovyov. 

) suggested laying mats on the ground to jump softer.

I say - I will jump without mats.

And a few takes back and forth, back and forth.

If every child had such a grandfather, it would be cool, ”said the actor.

According to Dobrynin, the most difficult thing in the work was the difference in the temperaments of the actor himself and his hero.

“I am a very emotional person.

And my grandfather, on the contrary, is very laconic.

For example, he does not greet anyone in the morning, even with his relatives.

I had such an uncle.

Calm, tough.

And it’s difficult because for this image you have to compress all emotions, because I am a tornado myself.

And it’s also difficult, probably, to search for Zakhar’s gaze, sometimes very difficult, ”says Dobrynin.

The actor also praised the professionalism of the show's team and the idea of ​​the series, stressing that he considers it very timely.

“The authors of the series are a new wave.

Since I have about 140 projects, and I started filming in 1981, I remember everything.

This is a completely different generation, bright, very clear.

The most important thing is that they are very creative people who make an amazing, bright, necessary story.

At the moment, this is a very necessary project,” says Nikolai Dobrynin.

Two in one

The roles of the two sons of grandfather Zakhar, the twin brothers Herman and Vitka, went to actor Sergei Lavygin (“Kitchen”, “Hotel Eleon”, “Ice 2”).

Playing two diametrically opposed characters (one is a calm, reasonable, educated surgeon, the second is a felon who has been in prison twice), who also find themselves in a love triangle with the heroine of Alexandra Ursulyak Vasya, has become an interesting task for the artist.

“We came up with for each of them not only makeup, a costume, but also plasticity, facial expressions and a certain characteristic.

My acting interest lies precisely in this, so that the viewer later, watching the series, still sees not one artist playing two roles, but two different characters.

I don’t know how realistic it is at all, but we are trying to make this “attraction” reliable and interesting, ”said Lavygin.

“When two roles are played by one artist, it’s not easy.

First, it comes with technical issues - how to film the same artist in two different roles.

And, besides, it requires a lot of attention - both from Sergey and from us - in order to perceive the same person in different ways, ”says Alexandra Ursulyak.

For the director, shooting scenes with twins also turned out to be not the easiest experience - after all, the viewer will see two characters on the screen, while there are more of them on the set: several understudies are involved in almost every scene.

“Well, look, what a story: “Seryozha, you are now passing for Herman in the costume of Vitka.

Misha, you are watching Herman passing by.

Petya, you are now playing along on your own.

Then we change, and then we change again.”

And on these phrases, people already don’t understand what is happening, ”said Solovyov.

Mikhail Solovyov admitted that he was inspired by the old Soviet cinema and wants to transfer its spirit to his series, which he does not consider an ordinary comedy.

“I was born in 1978 and grew up on Soviet cinema.

I remember that these were dramas, but even they always had humor.

It was always internally very pleasing, forced to watch.

And here, too, I wanted to make history “ours”, as they say.

When I read the script, I saw in it a similar story, similar to Soviet films in some form.

"White Dew", "Fathers and Grandfathers" with Papanov ... A lot, even "Wick" - with Ranevskaya, with Leonov, a lot of issues, and everyone makes you smile.

And here I wanted to do the same - to watch the drama, but at the same time smile, ”said the director.

The release of the series "Against All" is scheduled for the end of 2022.
